First Dates in Preston
Avenham and Miller Parks run side by side down to the River Ribble, with Victorian gardens, a riverside path and benches all the way along. It is one of the nicest free first dates in the North West. In the town centre, the Victorian covered market and the streets around the Flag Market have plenty of cafés for a coffee and a chat.
Preston sits right in the middle of the county, with trains to Blackpool, Lancaster and Blackburn, so it makes an ideal halfway point if your match lives across Lancashire.

Blackburn, Burnley and East Lancashire
The east of the county has its own charm. Towneley Park in Burnley has a hall, gardens and wide, flat paths; Witton Country Park in Blackburn has a café and easy trails. Clitheroe, with its little castle on a hill and a high street full of independent shops, sits between the two and makes a sweet middle ground. Further north, Morecambe's promenade, with its statue of Eric Morecambe and views across the bay to the Lake District hills, is a lovely flat walk for a sunny afternoon. Lancashire is generous with places to sit and talk.
