Exeter, Plymouth and all of Devon
The most mature crowd we cover, with time for long walks and longer lunches.
Devon has the most mature membership of anywhere we cover. Six in ten members here are 55 or over, and more than four in ten are 65 or older. Members live in Exeter and Plymouth, around Torbay and the coast, and in the towns and villages between Dartmoor and Exmoor.
For many of them, dating is about company: someone to share Sunday lunch with, to walk the coast path for a mile or two, or to go to the theatre with on a Thursday. If that sounds like you, you are in the right place. Read our page on BBW dating over 50 for more about dating later in life.

City, coast and moor
Pick the one that suits you both, and save the others for later.
Coffee on Cathedral Green, the free Royal Albert Memorial Museum, then a flat stroll along the river at the Quay.
The Barbican's cobbled harbour and cafés, and a level walk along the Hoe with views across the Sound.
A small riverside town with tea rooms and old pubs, a short train ride from Exeter.
A cream tea in a village tea room, with a view of the tors and no need to climb one.
In Devon, a cream tea is spread cream first, then jam. Across the border in Cornwall it is the other way round. It is a harmless argument that has started many a conversation, and a cream tea for two is about as relaxed a first date as Devon offers. Torquay, Paignton and Sidmouth all have seafront cafés where you can sit with a view and let the afternoon run on.
Distances in Devon can be long and buses rural, so agree a meeting place that is easy for both of you, and make your own way there and back. Our safety page and first date ideas have more practical tips.
Devon is one of the largest counties in England, and members can live an hour or more apart. Exeter is the natural middle, with trains from Plymouth, Torbay, Barnstaple and Exmouth all running into St Davids or Central. Newton Abbot works well for south Devon, and Tiverton Parkway for the north and east. If you are driving, the cathedral cities and market towns have car parks close to their centres. Agree on a place that is easy for both of you, and if the first date goes well, the second can be somewhere on your own doorstep.
